Timing Your Swimming Pool Project

If you want to enjoy swimming in your pool during the summer season, then you should start planning for the construction of the pool way before the summer season begins. It’s not surprising that many people begin to build their pool when it's already too hot. Unfortunately, by the time you are through with the plan, get approval from local authorities, and get the pool builder to schedule you in his timeline, chances are that your pool will not be complete until the beginning of the next summer season.

Deciding on the type of pool to install is the easy part. Once you have made that decision, there will be various factors which will affect the time it will take for your pool to go in the ground.
These factors include;
1)    The design plan
It’s crucial for you to decide on the shape, size and brand of the pool that you want but before submitting your pool plan to the relevant authorities, you need to determine the exact position where you want your pool placed and where the pool boundaries will be. The faster you make this vital decision the soon your pool builder will embark on the work.
2)    Getting consent
You should first obtain permission from your local planning authority before installing a swimming pool in your home. The process includes submitting the pool plan and the surrounding areas of the pools for consideration. The process of approving the pool may take a maximum of six weeks, and during this period the construction process won’t be able to start.
3)    The pool builder’s construction time
Once you have gotten the approval from your local planning authority, your pool builder can then proceed and place your pool into their construction timeline. You should note that your pool builder probably has some pools lined up ahead before he can proceed with constructing your pool. The earlier you start the process, the earlier the pool builder will place your pool installation into their timeline and match with your schedule. Strive to have an open conversation with your pool builder about the required timeframe which is needed to complete the pool. Companies are different from each other, and some are fully booked during the summer periods. If you are nearing the summer season and the pool builder promises to complete the pool before the summer make sure that he delivers the work on time.
4)    Type of pool which you choose
It’s clear some pools are much easier to construct than others. For example, a fibreglass pool is very easy and quick to install, and it can be installed within just a few days while it might take several weeks or even months to construct a concrete pool.
As much as you would want to time the construction of your swimming pool project, it’s good to remember that once your swimming pool is installed, it will be there for the longest time. Once you decide on the type of pool you want, don’t let timing get in your way to have that perfect swimming pool.
